Equipment

  • Food Processor or Blender Essential for getting those fine, uniform Oreo crumbs.
  • Small Cookie Scoop (1.5 Tbsp) Ensures evenly sized balls.
  • Dipping Tool or Fork Makes dipping in chocolate much easier.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (15.25 oz) Mint Oreo cookies, finely crushed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2.5 cups melting chocolate or chocolate chips (mint green and/or semi-sweet)
  • Green sprinkles, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Finely crush the entire package of Mint Oreos in a food processor until you have fine, uniform crumbs. (Work in batches if needed.)
  • In a large bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly until no white streaks remain and a cohesive dough forms.
  • Using a small cookie scoop (about 1.5 Tbsp), portion out the mixture and roll into smooth balls. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for 20-30 minutes until firm.
  • Melt your chosen chocolate in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. (Add ½ tsp shortening per cup of chips for smoother consistency.)
  • Dip each chilled ball into melted chocolate using a fork or dipping tool. Tap off excess and return to parchment-lined sheet.
  • Place 1 Tbsp of contrasting chocolate chips in a small zip-top bag. Microwave for 40 seconds, massage until smooth, snip a tiny corner, and drizzle over balls. Add sprinkles while wet. Let chocolate set completely.

Notes

Pro Tips: The #1 rule: finely crush your Oreos! Any large chunks will make for gritty truffles. Use a food processor for the best results. NEVER skip the chilling step! Freezing the formed balls for 20-30 minutes before dipping is essential for a clean, crumb-free chocolate coating. For perfectly smooth melted chocolate chips, add ½ teaspoon of shortening or coconut oil per cup of chips. Store these in the refrigerator due to the cream cheese – they'll keep for weeks!
