Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Serrated Knife

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 5.2 oz package Garlic & Herb Boursin cheese, softened
  • 0.25 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 0.25 cup Parmigiano-Reggiano or Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 0.33 cup fresh chives or green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, dill), finely chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet. Unfold thawed pastry on a floured surface and gently roll to smooth creases.
  • Brush with egg wash. Spread Boursin evenly, then top with herbs, chives, cheddar, and parmesan.
  • Tightly roll pastry into a log. Slice into ½-inch rounds with a serrated knife. Place on baking sheet.
  • Brush tops with egg wash. Bake 14-18 mins until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Pro Tips: For clean, neat slices, use a sharp serrated knife and a gentle sawing motion. Chilling the rolled log for 15-20 minutes before slicing can make this even easier. To make these ahead, assemble the swirls and freeze them unbaked on a tray; once solid, transfer to a bag. Bake from frozen, adding 5-7 extra minutes. For extra flavor, try adding a tablespoon of finely diced prosciutto or sun-dried tomatoes.
