Equipment

  • Large Skillet or Wok Essential for quick, high-heat cooking.
  • Sharp Chef's Knife For thinly slicing the steak against the grain.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 8 oz egg noodles or ramen noodles
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp salt, or to taste
  • 0.25 cup green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Cook noodles in salted boiling water according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside. Pat steak slices dry.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak slices for 1-2 minutes per side until browned. Transfer to a plate.
  • Reduce heat to medium. Melt butter in the same skillet. Add garlic (and red pepper flakes) and sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, black pepper, and salt to the skillet. Stir to combine and simmer for 30 seconds.
  • Add the cooked noodles to the sauce. Toss vigorously to coat. Add the steak and any juices back to the pan. Toss everything together for 1-2 more minutes to heat through.
  • Remove from heat. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.

Notes

Pro Tips: For tender steak, always slice it thinly against the grain. Pat the slices completely dry with paper towels before cooking to ensure a good sear. Have all your sauce ingredients measured and ready to go before you start cooking—this recipe moves fast! If the sauce seems too thick, loosen it with a splash of pasta water or chicken broth.
