Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 4 graham crackers, broken into squares for dipping
  • 2 sparkler candles (red, white, or blue)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/4 cup crushed freeze-dried blueberries (optional, for color)
  • 1/4 cup red, white, and blue sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  • Prep the Skillet: Lightly grease an 8-inch cast-iron skillet or oven-safe dish with butter or non-stick spray. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the milk chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth (about 1-2 minutes). Alternatively, use a double boiler on the stovetop.
  • Assemble the Dip: Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the prepared skillet and spread it evenly. If using, sprinkle the crushed freeze-dried blueberries and red, white, and blue sprinkles over the chocolate. Top with mini marshmallows, covering the chocolate completely.
  • Bake Until Gooey: Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the marshmallows are golden brown and slightly puffed. Keep an eye on it to avoid burning.
  • Add the Sparklers: Remove the skillet from the oven and carefully insert the sparkler candles into the dip. Light the sparklers immediately before serving for a festive touch. Let the sparklers burn out completely before eating.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Serve the dip warm with graham cracker squares for dipping. Enjoy immediately while the chocolate is still gooey and the marshmallows are soft!

Notes

Pro Tips: Use a cast-iron skillet for even heating and a rustic presentation. For extra flair, add red, white, and blue sprinkles to the melted chocolate before topping with marshmallows. Keep sparklers away from children and use long-handled lighters for safety. If serving outdoors, place the dip on a heat-resistant surface.Storage: This dip is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-10 minutes before serving.Variations: Swap milk chocolate for white chocolate and add crushed freeze-dried strawberries for a red layer. For a boozy twist, drizzle 1 tablespoon of Kahlúa or Baileys over the chocolate before adding marshmallows. Use gluten-free graham crackers for a gluten-free option.
